The Joy (And Frustration) of Trying New Gadgets

Intro

I’ve always loved testing out new gadgets—sometimes they become daily essentials, and other times, they end up as expensive disappointments. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with a few new devices, and while some have been great additions to my workflow, others haven’t quite lived up to the hype.

The Hits (Stuff I Love):

Mechanical Keyboard That Looks Like Wood – It’s got that perfect blend of aesthetic and functionality. The tactile feedback is great, and it just feels satisfying to type on.

New Alarm Clock – I was skeptical, but this one actually helps me wake up better without the jarring effect of a phone alarm and I also have an alarm for weekdays and another for the weekends plus I can charge my phone with it as well.

Stand-Alone Desk Timer – Works well for Pomodoro sessions, helping me stay focused and productive.

A Great Mouse – I finally found a mouse that balances ergonomics, responsiveness, and durability, making my workflow smoother.

Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil for All Apple iPad Pros (2018 Or Later) – Orange (Renewed) – Doesn’t have all the feature of an Apple Pencil but I love how it fits in my hand and I can write better with it.

The Misses (Stuff That Let Me Down):

• A Mouse That Needed Fixing – I had an issue with one of my older mice, but I found a fix that made it usable again. That mouse being the Apple Magic Mouse – by itself it doesn’t fit right in my hand so I bought this ergonomic case for it.

The Search (What I’m Still Looking For or plan on getting):

Paperlike Screen Protector for iPad – I’m considering getting one to improve the feel of writing and drawing on my iPad.

Final Thoughts

Some gadgets truly enhance productivity, while others turn into clutter. The real fun is in experimenting, refining, and finding the gems.

What’s the last gadget you tried? Was it a hit or a miss?
